I learned about that book to from my Boss during our meeting before the opening of our Before and After Care program this school year. Indeed, our role as a teacher goes way beyond the four corners of the classroom.

@rosilie,

sure, diplomatic approach comes in first. if that doesn't work then there are other sorts of punishment. as as teacher, i would never employ corporal punishment mainly because I don't believe in it and secondly because it is prohibited here in Austria.

@sterndal, it's funny you say that. You know, when it comes to reviewing books or movies, I really say what i think. So if i like a book and blogged about it then you bought a copy of it, I hope that you won't think... "what a waste of money"..hehe

Student behavior in younger years or at later time is not at all different. Different teachers may have different ways to discipline or sanction delinquent students but I always believe on diplomatic approach first before anything else. But, this could have its limits too.

I had been a teacher for 11 years and had been happy about it. I do have a non-academic job but I always find teaching more fulfilling. So, I shall go back to where I am used to and loving.
