hi vienna

one of the reasons i gave up teaching is because if you are teacher it means you can't stop working after the class. you still need to think about the lesson plan and worry about the props when you get home. and you simply can't step into the classroom unprepared. and sometimes on weekends, i even went to school for general cleaning, designing the classroom, do preparations for a school program, etc. and it wasn't written in my contract that i'd receive additional payment for all the extra efforts hehe.

I agree with Ruthi. Teaching needs a lot of self-control too. Everytime I tutor my daughter, I tend to eat a lot because I am stress.

Good luck and have fun teaching. I admire your profession.

I agree. You cannot compensate quality with quantity. Teaching is a noble profession as the saying goes. The money we earned from teaching is not a payment for our job as a teacher but a compensation for hard work and dedication... that is why if you will look at it... teachers are always underpaid. What is more important is you love what you do and you are proud of the result of the work you done because at the end of the day... you are still a teacher... paid or underpaid.
